Stanbic IBTC recently hosted the September 2026 General Meeting of the Association of Chief Compliance Officers of Banks in Nigeria (ACCOBIN). Delivering the Bank’s address, Deputy Chief Executive, Mrs. Bunmi Dayo-Olagunju, commended the new Executive team and stakeholders, attributing the current improvements in the financial ecosystem to the collaborative efforts of Law Enforcement Agencies and industry professionals.
In her remarks, Mrs. Dayo-Olagunju charged ACCOBIN to evolve into an early warning system for the banking sector by adopting data-driven, evidence-based reporting. She also emphasized the critical need for deeper collaboration with key stakeholders, including the sub-committees of the Bankers’ Committee, to secure financial assets, maintain responsible value, and establish a clear benchmark for “what good looks like” across the industry.
